2015 World Cup – Game 10 – West Indies v Pakistan

This game is being played in Christchurch and features two teams who lost last time out. The game starts at 10 pm UK time, so I may actually get to watch some of it.

Weather looks set fair for this one at the moment, so let’s hope for a good game.

Comments below.

The West Indies are all pulling in the same direction. The President of the WICB shows the sort of leadership we love…

WI already in trouble – eight overs and both openers gone. Gayle mis-hooked and was well caught at long leg. Smith (who’d been dropped at third man) fenced Sohail Khan to second slip (Haris Sohail – good cricketer).

Bit surprised they’ve eased the situation by bringing on the spinners at this stage. The right armer Sohail Khan in particular was hitting good areas. Darren Bravo, run out any second? The commentators a minute ago just said that the Windies bat deep. Whilst I can’t argue that Sammy is a good number 8, I don’t think you can say that a side with Ramdin and Smith in the top 5 ever ‘bats deep’. Not sure how late I’ll stay up for this one.

    Afridi drops Samuels.

BTLers at the Guardian blame Misbah.

    Samuels what are you doing?

Brainless shot to the first ball of a new spell, gone!

    WI 103-3

That was a /very/ satisfactory end of the innings. And having Pakistan at 1/2 will also do.

(Of course meanwhile Dave Cameron is apparently starting a war with Chris Gayle. I would be satisfied if Gayle retired from international cricket effective now, and if Cameron were never heard from again._

Ding ding 25/5. OK, so Gayle can stay around because he does make the odd slip catch…

Pakistan at one stage were 1/4, chasing 311 for victory. They got very competitive, as they passed half of the target only 8 down. #Competitive #BanTheMinnows #ICCVIsionaries

Sammy and Russell give them some real later order hitting. Russell’s record is ridiculous in that he has a strike rate of 130. I guess those two just play as if it were a t20 match.
