Oh hells bells, the phantom from the “living Dead” comes back to haunt us all. Can it get any worse? Will no one rid us of this odious moron? Someone please put him out of his misery and thus relieve us all from the misery of having to read his garbage anymore.

is he serious? Like Trent and Boult are at not at least as threatening as Anderson, injured Woakes and crocked Broad in English conditions? As if NZ do not have proven Test batters such as Williamson, Taylor etc…
Words fail me.
And then we hit the Aussie pace attack, which if it includes a fit Ryan Harris will surely wipe out the English top order. Look what Harris did against India in Aussie conditions!

I am struggling with the math here:
The West Indies tour: not the sternest challenge, but even so, not that many teams have successfully whitewashed West Indies in the Caribbean recently (South Africa, Australia, and India (2011) fell short of that mark; New Zealand lost 2-0 in 2012, and won 2-1 in 2014). Maybe 2-0 to England if everyone fires.
New Zealand: If the New Zealand batsmen misfire, then England might win the series 2-0. I think New Zealand are better than that though. And the experience of the previous tour will certainly help Boult and Southee.
The UAE tour: it will be a small miracle if England win even one Test there. Of the non-subcontinental sides, only New Zealand and South Africa have achieved that on one occasion. So fairly reasonable to expect two non-wins there.
Tour of South Africa: 4 Tests. Of course I can see England win one Test out of four (Durban), but I’d struggle to see how this England side can even come close to winning a series in South Africa. Fairly reasonable to expect 3 non-wins there.
So, I am missing 5 wins out of 5 Tests. I am not really sure how anyone would think the Aussies are just going to roll over and die, even if they are going to miss Harris, and they accidentally bowl to a decent bowling plan to Haddin.
That is not optimism. There are the unchecked lunatic ravings of someone who probably used to know better in the past.

You really should not have trod. We had to win one in South Africa or UAE which would be tough to start with. Then whitewash the rest. Simple.

Straight out of the “phantom QF versus India” playbook. The delusion of the elder English cricket press really is a sight to behold. Never mind this unspeakably hopeless regime, he wants to look up how difficult it was for the Untouchable Flower to win 12 out of 17 Tests even at his peak. Clue: it helps to play more than 7 of them at home.
Of course, starting in the Caribbean, the superior Fletcher managed 11 out of 12 with just 7 played at home, and extended it to 13 out of 17 (8 at home) before the 2005 Ashes.

Good lord, you can see why even the telegraph got rid of him. Even they couldn’t publish his crayon scriblings with a straight face.
But no worries, the cricketer magazine will take him. There is a giant welfare circiut for ex cricket writers. If you fall off the wagon someone will take you. Right school, right views and your in. They look after their own.

I saw George Dobell on one of those question/answer things he does on you tube with the blonde Australian lady. He claimed Clarke is the biggest land owner in Paraguay or some South American country. Apparently he owns the oil rights.

People like Peters will never stop putting up barriers to keep KP out.
Even if KP apologised (which he shouldn’t because his book has been proved correct by the idiotic ECB dossier, and the sulking of certain England bowlers) the knuckle draggers like Peters would then demand something else. The demands will never end.

Pathetic. If it was not a problem for Swann to be critical in his autobiography of KP, then I don’t see how it should be a problem that KP cheeses a few people off.
Media whipped it up in the case of Swann? What a coincidence. Same thing happened when KP wrote a few words.
Also if we consider @KPGenius, where Pietersen was supposed to take it on the chin, why can’t some of the players in the team take criticism just the way they wanted KP to take it?
And from reading the article on cricinfo after Broad was exonerated by the ECB:

Pringle was delusional to believe that in December and he would be absolutely barking to believe it now.
Take Pakistan in UAE: they thrashed England last time and thrashed Australia 2-0 recently. Only SA and NZ have got draws there. Yet Pringle ‘expects’ England to win?
Then he expects England to win in SA? One Test perhaps (SA often do badly in Durban) but he needs more than one win to get up to his eleven.
I think there is more chance of England winning the Ashes than winning those two. WI and NZ aren’t exactly straightforward either.
I’m increasingly convinced that types like Pringle and Selvey don’t follow world cricket at all. If England aren’t playing they don’t even notice what other teams are doing. Selvey has written two articles on New Zealand recently and not shown any knowledge about their play over the last couple of years.

It is very, very strange.
The cult of Cook is something I have never seen in English cricket before. Many people loved Botham, and he had his detractors . But Cook is not in the same class as Botham.
And it isn’t from the majority of the public, but a very creepy section on the media. The birds are singing, spring is in the air, and Cook worship has started.
His team didn’t win though. So some things stay the same.
