This could be a quickie, if NZ win toss and insert…

Scotland are recovering reasonably well. They are not scoring at a great pace, but are not losing wickets in a cluster either. 83/4 after 23 overs. Certainly a lot better than where they were at 12/4.

Wonder if the Welsh have considered going independent. From my quick count, there’s a nice expenses paid trip out to the southern sunshine being enjoyed by 15 Scots chappies, 14 English, 16 Irish and 0 Welsh.

Vic “politically correct swerve” Marks delivering a written and spoken masterclass in patronising the associates (after the closest winning margin thus far).

Machan and Berrington were silly trying to accelerate too quickly, at a stage where continued accumulation would have likely edged them past 200 anyway. It’s almost as though they were intent on scoring at a rate quick enough to reach 250-270+. Having said that, 12-4 is a tricky time to come in, and both played excellently. Surprised NZ didn’t bowl out Boult/Southee with the new ball though – as soon as they went off it became much easier. Where’s McLenaghan? I know I’ve spelt that hideously wrong…
